🔥 My newest FAVORITE Streaming & Capture Card! - ClonerAlliance Flint 4KP Plus Review
Today, I'm gonna be taking a look at the ClonerAlliance Flint 4KP Plus streaming and capture card. This card has been gaining a lot of attention lately, so I wanted to see how it stacks up against the competition. So, let’s take a look!
First, a small disclaimer: I have to address that I received this Flint 4KP Plus video
capture card for free from the folks at ClonerAlliance, what means that I don’t
have to return it. It’s for me to keep what will encourage the creation of more,
and more content for you guys to enjoy. I’m certain that it will improve things
around here, ‘cause the capture card I’ve owned for years now is an old Elgato
Game Capture HD that only does 1080p at 30 frames per second, but, despite
that, it’s still an amazing card to capture stuff from older hardware. This
ClonerAlliance one will go beyond that, what’s also great! Even so, this review
is based on my personal experience and the capturing tests I made. I’ve not
been coached or told to say this or that. I’m not an influenceable type of guy,
never was and never will be. You all should know that by now if you usually
watch my content. I say what I have to say and that’s it.
So, let's start with the design and build quality of the ClonerAlliance Flint 4KP Plus.
The card is quite compact, which makes it easy to take with you on the go. It
also features a sleek black and red design, which looks great! And the build
quality is impressive, with a solid and sturdy feel to the device. Just like
what we could find in the Ambernic RG353M handheld gaming console that I’ve
reviewed recently! Link above and in the description if you’re interested.
A nice addition, also, is this side grille that will keep the unit cooler, ‘cause
these things tend to get really hot and, in consequence, start to fail after a
while. And it’s quite annoying when the signal just breaks in a middle of a
stream or when capturing footage.
Despite its name, this is not a 4K capture card. What it does is that it will output, or pass-through, a 4K signal at 60fps to an external device, which is pretty impressive having in consideration its price tag. Even so, the capture quality in 1080p is indeed excellent, with sharp and clear video and audio. The card uses H.264 compression to minimize file sizes, which is great for those who need to store large amounts of footage, just like me!
But if you really want, or need, to capture at 4K resolution, you’ll be looking out for the 4KP PRO model instead.
The Flint 4KP Plus features a seamless 1080p at 60fps low latency video recording format through a USB 3 type C connection, which provides fast and stable data transfer speeds and minimal delay between what is happening in the main screen and what’s being captured. The card is also compatible with a wide range of
devices, including Android, Linux, Windows and Mac computers, as well as gaming
consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, besides others that feature
HDMI output, like the A500 mini for example. Plus, you can also connect this
card directly to your DSLR camera to use it as a high-quality webcam for
streaming or for all sorts of video capture, ditching the hassle of messing
around with SD or microSD cards just by recording the footage directly to your
computer using OBS or other similar software. Sadly, no mini or micro-HDMI
cable, of adapter, comes included in the box in the midst of all these adapters.
Even so, it’s nice to have these around. They might come handy.
As for software, the ClonerAlliance Flint 4KP Plus comes with its own capture app that can be downloaded directly from their website and it’s highly recommended that you register your device so that you can unlock all its potential. The software
is pretty easy to use and offers a variety of useful features. It allows you to
adjust settings like brightness, contrast, and saturation, and also features a
live preview window so you can see exactly what you're capturing in real-time.
The card also supports 1080p60 pass-through, which allows you to play games at
high refresh rates, again, practically without any lag or delay.
Overall, the ClonerAlliance Flint 4KP Plus capture card is an excellent choice for those who need to capture high-quality 1080p video footage at 60 frames per second, tops. The capture quality is excellent, the build sturdiness is impressive, and the card is compatible with a wide range of devices. As for the included software, it’s also easy to use and offers a variety of useful features. But you can skip it and go straight to OBS for capturing and streaming, thanks to the card’s plug & play nature.
So, bottom line is that if you're in the market looking for a new capture card, I recommend you to also have this one in mind.
Again, shout out to ClonerAlliance for sending this in!
